The ARC medical and dental clinics will work toward ensuring a long and happy life for children.Every ARC community will develop an industry or production center where members of the community will find employment, high school students will have an opportunity to determine a career track and income will be generated to support the ARC Village.What is the need?10% of the world’s people live on the African continent, but 90% of the world’s HIV infected children reside on the continent.In Sub-Saharan Africa 470,000 die every year from AIDS. Of 30 children born to HIV-positive mothers 10 will acquire the virus simply by being born. Another 4 will become infected from breast-feeding. Most of these children will not live to see their 5th birthday.More than 5.5 million children in eastern and southern Africa have lost their mothers or both parents to AIDS.
